Alexandra and Charlotte Reid have been performing violin duets together for over twenty years. They have given numerous recitals at venues including Winchester Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, West Road Cambridge, the Fitzwilliam Museum, St James' Church Piccadilly and Norden Farm Centre for the Arts.
Both sisters studied at the Royal Academy of Music where they each received prizes for chamber music and graduated with distinction. Since then they have been working in London, Alexandra as a member of Britten Sinfonia and Charlotte with the City of London Sinfonia. They also play with orchestras including the Philharmonia, Aurora, RPO, LSO, CBSO, London Sinfonietta and the London Chamber Orchestra, and recently with CantiaQuorum, a new chamber orchestra founded in Canterbury.
They also play in Hampden Quartet. Notable performances include the arrival of the Olympic Torch in London in 2012 and at a dinner celebrating NATO. A Financial Times review stated: "I don't think anyone was unmoved by the ardour and commitment with which this group delivered the soul-harrowing slow movement of Schubert's Death and the Maiden quartet and the exuberant finale of Beethoven's Opus 130".
