We are delighted to announce that the popular children’s workshop is back. Bring your children to Abbotsbrook Hall for a fun afternoon making things and listening to and learning about making music based on Quentin Blake’s story Patrick. Local professional musicians Dan & Marisa Cornford together with Jacqueline Brown and her team will lead the children on a magical journey of making and drawing things to illustrate Patrick’s adventures and enjoying the music specially composed for the story.
Tickets - £10 to cover cost of venue, art materials and drinks. Ticket must be booked in advance as we need to know numbers beforehand.
Children must be accompanied by a parent.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Patrick! For when he plays his violin, the most extraordinary things start to happen: fish can fly, cows can dance and trees grow cakes instead of apples. There's fireworks and fun and colours everywhere, when Patrick performs his magical tunes…
The afternoon begins with a recapitulation of the story, followed by the children making props and drawings to support the story.
Finally the narration of story begins and is accompanied by music played by Dan (Viola), Marisa (Keyboard) and by the children using their art and props to capture Patrick’s experiences with his magical violin.
The music is specially written for Patrick by Marisa Cornford.
