Denise lives in Buckinghamshire  and  has a background in research, investigation and intelligence analysis. She is a member of the Society of Authors and the Society of Women Writers and Journalists and writes (as DJ Kelly) biographical fiction and non-fiction, and (under her own name) stage plays and screenplays. She reviews books, films and plays and regularly contributes articles to local, national and international press and journals. As a volunteer researcher for several local history and heritage groups, and a trained and experienced public speaker, she gives talks on various subjects to diverse community groups. Her latest book is ‘Buckinghamshire Spies and Subversives’.  Other books include - The Famous and Infamous of the Chalfonts and District, The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross at War, Running with Crows - The Life and Death of a Black and Tan and A Wistful Eye - The Tragedy of a Titanic Shipwright.
